(FADEIN: Backstage. El Arco Iris is getting a drink of water from a fountain. A backstage attendant calls out to him and Iris turns around. The attendant runs up to him.)
ATTENDANT: "Oh good, I caught you."
IRIS: "El Arco Iris wishes to know what this pleasurable exchange is about?"
ATTENDANT: "Listen, Larry Tact is too busy, or else he would have done this himself.."
IRIS: "Oh?"
ATTENDANT: "Yes .. you see, Larry understands that you may have taken exception to some of the comments he made … because, well, sometimes the truth hurts."
IRIS: "El Arco Iris knows the truth. It shines down upon him from the beautiful blue sky."
ATTENDANT: "Yea .. ok. So as a token of apology, he wanted to send this to you."
(The attendant turns and gets another man. The man is dressed up in a giant foam rainbow suit. On the top of the rainbow, lodged in a tear, is a giant foam cloud, with a foam lightning striking down. Iris looks horrified.)
ATTENDANT: "Larry Tact hopes you’ll accept his humble offering …. Or else."
(The attendant walks off as Iris looks down at the floor.. CUTTO: Ringside.)
JIVE: "What is this?! Larry Tact is acting a little aggressive towards Iris lately."
GHEORGHE: "I’m sure he’s none to pleased that Juliet Marceau is trying to make his life a living hell.. The World Heavyweight Champion will take on El Arco Iris in the main event of the evening … but right now, we’ve got Alex Borden taking on ‘Too Sweet’ Travis Smith.."
JIVE: "Smith took exception to John Doe calling him a joke, and rightfully so! I hope that down the line Smith will teach Doe when to shut up!"
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden on the other hand has been trying to sell himself to the fans of New ERA .. and he promised that tonight, even if he needed to use Smith’s blood, he would make an impact.. Let’s go to Carl Jacobs!"
(CUTTO: Carl Jacobs standing in the ring … the lineup fades onto the screen before it ‘crumbles’ away.)
JACOBS: "The following match up is scheduled for one fall and has a THIRTY minute time limit! Introducing first …."
(CUEUP: ‘Forever’ by Kid Rock. Smoke fills the entrance gate as silver glitter falls from the rafters and flames run down the entrance way. Travis Smith steps onto the rampway with a chain mesh headress, black shades, and a huge silver cross around his neck. Smith walks down the isle and stops about half way to kneel in a quick prayer before walking to the ring.)
JACOBS: "Standing five foot seven .. and weighing 175 pounds …. He hails from CINCINATTI, OHIO ………. ‘Too Sweet’ …… TRAVIS SMITH!"
JIVE: "Smith is looking mighty fine … in good enough shape to not only whoop Borden.. but also John Doe!"
GHEORGHE: "Smith is giving up over 50 pounds to Alex Borden here tonight, and 7 inches … this is another mismatch of types if you ask me."
JACOBS: "And his opponent…."
(CUEUP: ‘Run Like Hell’ by Kittie as the fans pop. Semi-bright red lights shine around the entrance and above the ring. Alex Borden walks to the ring in a rush with a sour expression. His ribs are wrapped as they still haven’t healed 100%. Borden appeals to the crowd, leaning against the ropes facing the audience on that side of the ring, and raises his arms with fists, screaming at the crowd.)
JACOBS: "Standing six foot two and weighing 230 pounds ….. hailing from CLEVELAND, OHIO ………. ALEX BORDEN!"
GHEORGHE: "New ring music .. new entrance .. Alex Borden is trying to sell himself to the fans!"
JIVE: "And he’s not looking happy about it at all!"
(SFX: Bell rings.)
JIVE: "Borden’s ribs are still taped .. nothing like pointing out a weakness, eh?"
GHEORGHE: "What are you Canadian now?"
JIVE: "Yes."
GHEORGHE: "This match is underway as Travis Smith and Alex Borden lock up in the middle of the ring …. Borden is just totally overpowering Smith as he is back him up into the corner …. They’re both in the corner and the referee is asking for the break … Borden backs off …. AND SMITH TRIED TO GOUGE HIM IN THE EYE, BUT BORDEN CAUGHT SMITH’s HAND!!"
JIVE: "I do not want to be Travis Smith right now.."
GHEORGHE: "AND BORDEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE HAND OF SMITH! Borden follows it up with an arm drag! Travis Smith is on his knees begging for Borden to back off ….. but he just cornered himself in the other corner!!! Borden comes in with a HUGE BOOT TO THE HEAD! Alex Borden now hooking the tights … UP AND DOWN with a suplex!"
JIVE: "Alex Borden’s ribs don’t seem to be affected much by this aggressive offense…"
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden is definitely trying to make Travis Smith eat his words.."
JIVE: "And according to Borden, there’s a lot to eat!"
GHEORGHE: "Borden now locking the arms of Smith … and he locks on a Full nelson!! Borden is applying a lot of pressure to the back of the skull .. he wants Travis Smith to be in pain!"
JIVE: "As is the goal of most wrestlers, Tom."
GHEORGHE: "The referee asking Smith if he wants to give, but Travis is shouting no. Borden now walking Smith in to the corner …. AND HE RELEASES THE FULL NELSON TO SHOVE TOO SWEET CHEST FIRST INTO THE TURNBUCKLE! Smith comes back … and Borden locks the Full nelson back on!"
JIVE: "Smart wrestling by Borden so far.."
GHEORGHE: "Borden releases the full nelson … and he shoves Smith into the turnb… NO! TRAVIS SMITH HOPPED ON THE SECOND ROPES AND CATAPULTED BACK ONTO ALEX BORDEN!!!! ONE …… TW—BUT BORDEN KICKS OUT!"
JIVE: "Travis Smith is a sly cat!"
GHEORGHE: "Travis Smith now waiting for Borden to get to his feet …. Borden is up …. AND SMITH NOW WITH AN OKLAHOMA ROLL.. the ref is over for the roll up! ONE ….. TWO …. KICKOUT by BORDEN!!! Travis Smith up to catch Borden … and he pops him in the face with a left …… Smith turning Borden back to back … AND SMITH NOW WITH A BACKSLIDE!!! ONE ……. TWO …. THRE—NO! Alex Borden kicked out of it again!"
JIVE: "Hot diggity! Travis Smith is trying to surprise Borden into losing!"
GHEORGHE: "Smith now up … he goes off the far ropes … Borden back to his feet now …. AND SMITH WITH A CRUCIFIX PINNING COMBINATION!!! ONE ….. TWO – KICKOUT! And now ‘Too Sweet’ slaps the mat in desperation."
JIVE: "You know .. if that didn’t work, then Smith better have something else up his sleeves, because once Borden gets to his feet, I don’t want to be on the receiving end of his rage."
GHEORGHE: "Travis Smith pulling Borden up by the hair.. he throws him into the corner and is now kicking him repeatedly in the midsection …. SMITH NOW HOPS ON HIM ….. AND MONKEY FLIPS HIM INTO THE CENTER OF THE RING! Borden getting to his feet … AND SMITH COMES AT HIM AND PLANTS HIM INTO THE MAT WITH A SLIDE THROUGH DDT! TRAVIS SMITH IS HEADING UP TOP!"
JIVE: "Smith showing his experience here! Knowing that after a move like that he has time to go with something that might have a little bit more impact!"
GHEORGHE: "TRAVIS SMITH MEASURING …. AND HE COMES OFF AND CONNECTS WITH A DIVING HEADBUTT!! TRAVIS SMITH WITH THE COVER!!! ONE ….. TWO …… KICKOUT!"
JIVE: "Too bad it seems like it was in vain!"
GHEORGHE: "Travis Smith picking Alex Borden back up .. he hooks the tights and hits a snap suplex … and now he’s going up top again!!"
JIVE: "You know what they say about the well…."
GHEORGHE: "Smith comes off with ANOTHER diving headbutt…. BUT BORDEN ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY!"
JIVE: "And there’s going to be hell to pay."
GHEORGHE: "The ref administering the standing ten count as Alex Borden sits up.. and Borden up to his feet. Alex Borden measures Smith … AND DROPS THE ELBOW. Alex Borden now repeatedly KICKING SMITH IN THE SIDE! AND HE DROPS TO THE MAT AND IS CHOKING TRAVIS SMITH!"
JIVE: "I think he’s snapped!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee pries Alex Borden off of ‘Too Sweet’ …. Borden now assuring the referee that he won’t do it again ….. BUT HE DOES DROP THE KNEE RIGHT IN THE FACE! Alex Borden pulling Travis Smith to his feet… Smith is wobbling … and Borden with a right hook that almost brings Smith down! Borden now with a RIGHT CROSSOVER PUNCH THAT FLOORS SMITH! Alex Borden down for the cover …… ONE …….. TWO …… KICKOUT!"
JIVE: "Borden was trained by a boxing legend.."
GHEORGHE: "And it shows, Nick. Borden now with the leg of Travis Smith.. and he drives the knee into the mat! Borden again with the leg.. and he falls sideways to the mat extending the leg and trying to knock the knee out of the socket!"
JIVE: "If he can take out Smith’s legs, Borden will be assured to cut down Smith’s speed advantage."
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden now with an elbow drop THAT’S DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO BEING A LOW BLOW!"
JIVE: "Never get an elbow to the crotch .. not a pretty feeling."
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden has the leg of Smith and he’s trying to bend it in a way that’s not usually done by the joints…. Smith trying to grab ahold of Borden’s face … but Borden wrenches on the leg and Smith lets out a holler. Smith again trying to reach for the face of Borden …. And he rakes the eyes of Borden! Borden releases his grip on the leg as Smith is trying to pull himself away. Borden to his feet and he comes at Smith … BUT SMITH YANKS ON HIS TIGHTS AND SENDS BORDEN HEAD FIRST INTO THE BOTTOM TURNBUCKLE!"
JIVE: "Great ring positioning by Smith!"
GHEORGHE: "Smith now up on his feet trying to shake some feeling back into his leg."
JIVE: "He’s going to have to shake a lot more than that!"
GHEORGHE: "Travis Smith now grabbing the head of Alex Borden .. and he drives it into the turnbuckle… and he does it again!"
CROWD: "THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE! TEN!"
JIVE: "The crowd keeping count for Smith it would seem!"
GHEORGHE: "Smith backs Borden into the corner … and hits him with some knife edge chops!"
CROWD: "Woooooooo! Woooooooo!"
GHEORGHE: "Travis Smith puts his head under the arm of Borden and sets him on the turnbuckle!"
JIVE: "With his legs taking the punishment they just did, I’m not sure if this is the smartest thing he should do!"
GHEORGHE: "BOTH MEN ARE PERCHED ATOP THE TURNBUCKLE ..... AND TOO SWEET JUST NAILED A TOP ROPE FRANKENSTEINER!!!! BOTH MEN ARE DOWN ON THE MAT!"
JIVE: "I CAN’T BELIEVE HE PULLED THAT OFF!"
GHEORGHE: "Travis Smith trying to drape the arm over Borden’s chest ….. he does …. ONE ………………………. TWO ……………………… THREE …………. NO! Alex Borden kicked out right before the three!"
JIVE: "If Smith managed to get the three count, his career would have skyrocketed! Borden is a VERY tough competitor as he showed Suicide last episode!"
JACOBS: "There are TEN minutes remaining in the match…"
GHEORGHE: "Ten minutes left as both competitors are getting to their feet … Alex Borden charges at Smith … Smith with a kick to the stomach to slow him down ….. TRAVIS SMITH NOW PICKING BORDEN UP ……. TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! Alex Borden’s head was just planted square into the mat!"
JIVE: "Now would be a perfect time for the Too Sweet Stretch!"
GHEORGHE: "Travis Smith going to the legs of Alex Borden … I think you’re right!! Wait … Travis Smith is applying a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK!! HE’s GOT IT LOCKED ON!"
JIVE: "Alex Borden just popped back to life and is trying desperately to get out of the hold!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee is over asking Borden if he wants to give … but Borden SPITS AT HIM!"
JIVE: "You gotta be careful.. these refs will disqualify you for anything."
GHEORGHE: "Travis Smith reaching back now …. HE’s GOT A HOLD OF THE ROPES AND IS PULLING ON THEM FOR EXTRA LEVERAGE AS BORDEN YELPS! The referee turns around, but Smith released the ropes! Alex Borden’s shoulders are down on the mat ….. ONE ………….. TWO ………….."
JIVE: "He sits up in time!"
GHEORGHE: "Borden is trying to get at Smith’s face …… but the ref is in the way …. AND SMITH GOES BACK TO YANKING ON THE ROPES! Alex Borden is gritting his teeth ….. AND HE’s TRYING TO TURN IT!"
JIVE: "He’s got determination, I tell ya!"
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden rolling to one side … then to the other ….. BORDEN TURNS THE FIGURE FOUR OVER AND SMITH GRABS THE ROPES FORCING THE BREAK!!!"
JACOBS: "There are FIVE minutes remaining in the match…."
GHEORGHE: "We are getting down to the nitty gritty! Travis Smith now getting to his feet … and Alex Borden using the ropes to get to his feet …. Travis Smith looks over at Borden …. Borden starts walking over .. AND SMITH COMES OUT AND CONNECTS WITH A BUZZSAW KICK …. NO WAIT!!! BORDEN DUCKED!!! ALEX BORDEN BEHIND SMITH ….. HE HAS IT LOCKED ON!!!! THE CHOKE OUT!!!"
JIVE: "Alex Borden looks like a man possessed!!!"
GHEORGHE: "THE REF ASKING IF SMITH WANTS TO GIVE …… HE’s LOOKING AT SMITH …….. AND THE REFEREE CALLS FOR THE BELL!!!!"
(SFX: Bell rings.)
JACOBS: "The winner of this match via SUBMISSION ………. ALEX BORDEN!"
JIVE: "Borden hasn’t released the hold yet!"
GHEORGHE: "ALEX BORDEN IS KEEPING THE CHOKE OUT ON TRAVIS SMITH!!! Now the referee is fighting to pull him off!! FINALLY THE REFEREE GETS BORDEN TO RELEASE THE HOLD! Alex Borden wins this match and he is storming out of the ring back up the rampway!!"
JIVE: "Wow."
(The fans pop as John Doe walks out on the rampway with a microphone in hand…)
JIVE: "Jesus, its bad enough we have to see him next … but right now?!"
DOE: "I said it before, and I’ll say it again, Smith … YOU’RE A JOKE."
(Doe turns and walks back between the curtains.)
GHEORGHE: "John Doe coming back out here and taunting ‘Too Sweet’ after a hard fought match with Alex Borden ….. ladies and gentlemen, John Doe will be one of the six men involved in our next match .. the six man tag team Survivor match …. We’ll have that … WHEN WE COME BACK!"
