(FADEIN: Juliet Marceau’s office. She is standing there pacing back and forth. Sitting in front of her are the four members of DREDD: John Doe, Brandon Jacobs, Carlee Marx, and Jonathan Marx. They are looking at each other with dumbfounded looks on their faces.)
JACOBS: "We have no clue what you are talking about."
MARCEAU: "Don’t give me any of that bullshit…"
CMARX: "No really… attacking people? Why would we attack them?"
(Marceau stops and whips around, staring Carlee Marx deep in the eyes.)
MARCEAU: "That’s what I want to know!"
DOE: "I think you’ve got a screw loose, lady… you don’t have any proof that we…"
(Marceau holds up two black pieces of cloth … we now see that they are ripped pieces of DREDD’s official New ERA t-shirt.)
MARCEAU: "No proof, eh?"
JMARX: "Where did you find those?"
MARCEAU: "They were next to all four guys, Jonathan. I expected this much out of Carlee and Doe .. but I thought you were different…"
JMARX: "Ms. Marceau, I’m telling you. We have no clue what happened to them, but we didn’t do it."
(Marceau shakes her head as she walks around and sits down in her chair.)
MARCEAU: "I’m sorry but I just don’t believe you. We’ve got four guys who are in the hospital … two of our quarterfinals matches were cancelled … and now we’ve got to give two more spots in the P©X Title tournament to people who haven’t even stepped into the ring yet."
DOE: "Don’t blame us for not being able to solve your personnel problems…"
MARCEAU: "This is pointless… after tonight you all are serving a one show suspension."
JACOBS: "That’s a bit much!!"
MARCEAU: "You guys should have thought of that before you started attacking people."
(CUTTO: To ringside as we see DREDD get up from their chairs shaking their heads in disbelief.)
JIVE: "Uh-oh .. DREDD’s in deep shit…"
GHEORGHE: "So DREDD is responsible for all the attacks tonight! Now they are the audacity to try to say they didn’t do it!"
JIVE: "What’s worse is that they are all suspended for one show! That means the next time they all wrestle will be at International Intrigue … with no possibility of warming up beforehand!"
GHEORGHE: "Well this is John Doe and Carlee Marx’s last match it seems before International Intrigue … and they are involved in a mixed tag team match against Alister Hayze and Whisper!"
JIVE: "Hayze and Whisper were in trouble before … but you better believe that Doe and Carlee Marx will take out all of their frustration thanks to Juliet Marceau on them."
GHEORGHE: "Let’s go up to Carl Jacobs…"
(CUTTO: Carl Jacobs standing in the ring as the lineup for the match comes on screen.)
JACOBS: "Ladies and gentlemen the following match is scheduled for one fall and is a mixed tag team match! Introducing first…"
(CUEUP: ‘When Worlds Collide’ by Powerman 5000. The crowd begins to jeer loudly as John Doe, Carlee Marx and Brandon Jacobs come through the curtain.)
JACOBS: "They weigh in at a combined weight of 343 pounds …. They represent one half of DREDD …………. JOHN DOE and CARLEE MARX!"
GHEORGHE: "DREDD looking like a little wind was taken out of their sales by Vice President Juliet Marceau…"
JIVE: "Just wait, Tom … Doe and Marx will use their rage to walk away with a victory … and use THAT as their momentum for International Intrigue."
JACOBS: "And their opponents…"
(CUEUP: ‘One Vision’ by Queen as the lights go out and the crowd pops huge. Whisper walks out onto the stage followed by Alister Hayze. He lets her walk before him as they walk down. Whisper is very focused on Carlee Marx while Alister Hayze takes some time to slap some fans’ hands.)
JACOBS: "Being led to the ring by Madeline …. They weigh in at a combined weight of 341 pounds ….. ALISTER HAYZE and WHISPER!"
(SFX: Bell rings.)
GHEORGHE: "This match is underway and it looks like John Doe and Alister Hayze will be starting things off."
JIVE: "Hayze and Doe will meet again at International Intrigue in the cage match … and they may be the two men locked in those two separate cages on top while Jonathan Marx and Jean Rabesque battle it out trying to free their partners.."
GHEORGHE: "Doe and Hayze lock up in the middle of the ring and they are struggling back and forth to get the upperhand …. Hayze looks to be getting the best of Doe … BUT DOE WITH A RAKE OF THE EYES! John Doe now rakes the back of Alister Hayze … and follows it up with some reverse knife edge chops! Doe chops Alister Hayze into the corner … and he is reddening the chest of Hayze in a hurry!"
JIVE: "Doe doesn’t have to worry about working on Hayze’s back… that’s already got a yellow streak down it."
GHEORGHE: "Oh stop it, Nick! John Doe now driving his knees into the mid section of Hayze …. And he sends Hayze into the opposite corner … but Hayze reverses the irish whip and sends Doe chest first into the turnbuckle pads!! John Doe comes out … and Hayze takes him down with a drop toe hold! Alister Hayze picks up Doe … and he connects with an inverted atomic drop…. Doe stumbles back ….. AND HAYZE TAKES HIM DOWN WITH A CLOTHESLINE! ONE …….. TW—NO! Doe kicks out before the two!"
JIVE: "Come on Doe! Get off your ass and start teaching him a lesson!"
GHEORGHE: "Doe back on his feet … Hayze starts in on him …. AND DOE DIVES AND TAGS IN CARLEE MARX!"
JIVE: "Now Carlee can humiliate Hayze!"
GHEORGHE: "I don’t think so, Nick … Whisper will now come into the match."
JIVE: "What?! That’s discrimination!"
GHEORGHE: "Those were the rules set forth when these four competitors signed on to wrestle. Hayze tags in Whisper and she and Carlee Marx hook up… Carlee Marx with a quick takedown and she is on top of Whisper!"
JIVE: "Maybe this isn’t so bad afterall."
GHEORGHE: "Marx grabs a hold of Whisper’s hair and she is doing her damndest to try to rip all of Whisper’s hair out!"
JIVE: "Whisper already looks like a dog … so now she’s going to be one of those Mexican hairless ones!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee steps in and warns Carlee Marx… Marx gets off of Whisper and yanks her to her feet by the hair … AND NOW CARLEE MARX IS STRANGLING WHISPER!"
JIVE: "That’s my girl!"
GHEORGHE: "Whisper breaks the choke hold … AND WHISPER SLAPS CARLEE MARX RIGHT ACROSS THE FACE!! Carlee Marx looks shocked as she holds her face …. AND MARX SLAPS WHISPER! Whisper grabs an arm of Marx … and she connects with a shortarm clothesline! Marx still on her feet … AND WHISPER WITH A DROPKICK SENDS CARLEE TO THE MAT! Whisper with the cover … ONE ……….. TWO ……….. but Marx kicks out!"
JIVE: "Jesus Christ .. DREDD needs to get on the ball here.. they can’t let Hayze and Whisper get a win here."
GHEORGHE: "Whisper and Carlee Marx back on their feet … Whisper with another shortarm clothesline … BUT MARX DUCKS! Carlee Marx grabs the waist of Whisper … AND GERMAN SUPLEXES WHISPER TO THE MAT! She bridges … ONE ………. TWO ……. AND WHISPER KICKS OUT! Marx walks over and tags in John Doe …. And now Whisper must tag out to Alister Hayze."
(SFX: Crowd jeers loudly!)
JIVE: "She didn’t get out fast enough… ha, ha!"
GHEORGHE: "AND JOHN DOE KICKING WHISPER IN THE ASS AS SHE WAS CRAWLING OVER TO TAG OUT!! Whisper tags in Alister Hayze … AND HE CHARGES AT DOE AND CONNECTS WITH A FLYING FOREARM SMASH! Hayze on the mat with John Doe and he is driving elbow after elbow into the face of Doe! Alister Hayze quickly to his feet … and he drops the leg across the throat!"
JIVE: "That’s not fair! He shouldn’t have attacked Doe like that!"
GHEORGHE: "But it was okay for Doe to kick Whisper?"
JIVE: "She should have moved faster, Gheorghe! She knew very well that she had to get out of there."
GHEORGHE: " Alister Hayze brings John Doe to his feet and tosses him into the corner … and Hayze with shots to the gut of Doe …. AND HE TAKES DOE OVER WITH A CROSS ARMED SUPLEX! Doe hits the mat hard and rolls into the ropes … Alister Hayze comes over to continue working on Doe … AND DOE GRABS ON TO HIS TIGHTS AND THROWS HIM THROUGH THE ROPES TO THE ARENA FLOOR!"
JIVE: "If Marceau thought what DREDD did to those four men before was bad … wait till she sees what they do to Alister Hayze right here at ringside!"
GHEORGHE: " John Doe rolls out of the ring and meets up with Hayze on the outside … Doe with another shot to the eyes doubles over Hayze … and now Doe picks up Hayze …. AND DROPS HIM THROAT FIRST ONTO THE GUARDRAIL!!"
JIVE: "Doe’s got a mean streak in him like no one I’ve seen in a long time, Gheorghe."
GHEORGHE: " John Doe now kicking the body of Alister Hayze on the arena floor and the referee is standing there counting them both out …. BUT BRANDON JACOBS HAS CALLED FOR THE REFEREE… and now Jacobs is distracting the referee…. AND CARLEE MARX IS ON THE OUTSIDE AND THEY ARE DOUBLE TEAMING ALISTER HAYZE!"
JIVE: "Teamwork is a beautiful thing."
GHEORGHE: "Whisper hops down and slides through the ring … WHISPER NOW PERCHES HERSELF ON THE TOP ROPE…………. AND SHE MOONSAULTS OFF THE TOP ROPE RIGHT ONTO BOTH JOHN DOE AND CARLEE MARX AND THEY ALL GO CRASHING TO THE ARENA FLOOR!"
CROWD: "N.E.W! N.E.W! N.E.W!"
GHEORGHE: "The crowd is on their feet as Whisper now brings Carlee Marx to her feet and slides her into the ring!"
JIVE: "But that doesn’t count as a tag!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee is signaling that they are now the legal men.. or women if you may … and Whisper goes to work as she irish whips Carlee Marx into the corner …. Whisper comes in …. AND SHE COMES IN WITH A SPRINGING HURRICANRANA!! ONE ………… TWO ………. THREE—NOOOOOOO! Carlee Marx somehow kicked out! What a move by Whisper!"
JIVE: "And I fear that she’s not done yet…"
GHEORGHE: "WHISPER IS PERCHED ON THE TOP ROPE AGAIN …. Carlee Marx gets to her feet and turns……… AND WHISPER WITH A FLYING HEADSCISSORS FROM THE TOP ROPE SENDS CARLEE MARX SLIDING HARD INTO THE CORNERPOST!!!! Whisper is up on her feet and she is pumped!"
JIVE: "This isn’t good … this isn’t good at all!! Where’s Jonathan Marx?! He needs to come out here and give his fellow DREDD members some moral support!"
GHEORGHE: " Jonathan Marx was out here earlier as he challenged the Phantom Republican to an impromptu #1 Contender’s match …. but Phantom Republican maintained his #1 Contender spot … and Jonathan Marx is, I’m guessing, out back trying to plan some other way to take away Jean Rabesque’s World title…"
JIVE: "Well he needs to get out here and take away Whisper and Alister Hayze’s momentum!"
GHEORGHE: "WAIT JOHN DOE IS IN THE RING!!! JOHN DOE IS SNEAKING UP BEHIND WHISPER!!"
JIVE: "YES GET HER! GET HER GOOD!"
(SFX: Crowd pops!)
GHEORGHE: "WHISPER SAW HIM!! Whisper with a spinning heel kick took down John Doe and Doe is on the mat!! Alister Hayze gets back into the corner and WHISPER TAGS HIM IN!"
JIVE: "Oh great.."
GHEORGHE: "Hayze hops over the top rope and walks over to Doe who is just starting to get up …. Hayze locks the waist … AND BRINGS HIM OVER WITH A BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX! Doe quickly up to his feet and holding his back …. AND HAYZE LOCKS HIM AND TAKES HIM OVER WITH ANOTHER BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!! John Doe quickly up … but this time he backs away when he sees Hayze getting ready for a third!!"
JIVE: "It might seem like he’s begging Hayze to leave him alone … but he’s really got a plan…"
GHEORGHE: "I’m sure he does, Nick… it’s the "please don’t hurt me anymore" plan, right?"
JIVE: "That was low, Gheorghe. John Doe isn’t a member of DREDD for his looks, that’s for sure."
GHEORGHE: " John Doe backing up … Hayze coming in after him …… BUT CARLEE MARX JUMPS ON HIS BACK FROM BEHIND AND STARTS YANKING ON HIS NECK!! Marx drops down to her feet ……. BUT ALISTER HAYZE WITH A BELLY TO BACK SUPLEX AND MARX IS LAYED OUT!"
JIVE: "How dare he hit a woman!"
GHEORGHE: "What about when Doe kicked Whisper in the ass?!"
JIVE: "That was different! That was a love tap!"
GHEORGHE: " Alister Hayze turns to look at Marx … AND AS HE DOES JOHN DOE CHARGES AT HIM! BUT HAYZE CATCHES HIM AND DROPS HIM TO THE MAT WITH A SIDEWALK SLAM! Alister Hayze grabs the feet of John Doe …. AND HE LOCKS ON THE STF!! John Doe is in the middle of the ring and has nowhere to go!"
JIVE: "COME ON DOE! FIGHT IT!!"
GHEORGHE: "Doe looks like he’s slowly losing steam …. And there doesn’t seem to be a damn thing he can do about it!"
JIVE: "Where is Jonathan Marx when you need him most?!"
GHEORGHE: "Doe is fading … fading … BUT CARLEE MARX IS BACK ON HER FEET AND SHE KICKS ALISTER HAYZE IN THE HEAD!! Hayze releases the hold and Doe falls to the mat! Carlee Marx with ANOTHER kick to the head of Hayze …… BUT WHISPER RUSHES IN AND NAILS MARX WITH A CROSS BODY BLOCK!!!"
JIVE: "The referee needs to do a better job at keeping the partners on the outside… too much interference!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee finally separates the women and send them both back to the outside. Hayze picks up John Doe who was finally regaining his breath and sends him into the ropes …. Hayze ducks as Doe hops over him … Doe bounces off the other ropes …. HAYZE GRABS ONTO HIM …. BELLY TO… NO! DOE REVERSES AND GOES BEHIND HAYZE …… GERMAN SUPLEX!!! Doe rolls over and brings Hayze back to his feet ….. ANOTHER GERMAN SUPLEX!! Doe rolls over a second time and brings Hayze back to his feet again…… AND HE NAILS HIM WITH A THIRD GERMAN SUPLEX! ONE ………….. TWO …………… THREE!"
JIVE: "NO! Hayze kicked out!"
GHEORGHE: "That was pure wrestling instinct there as John Doe nailed Hayze with three consecutive German suplexes…. Doe and Hayze both on the mat now trying to regain some strength … and now Carlee Marx and Whisper are calling to be tagged in!"
JIVE: "Doe crawling over to his corner as Hayze is still lying on the mat … if Doe can get to his corner first, that’ll give Carlee Marx a little bit of an advantage for when Whisper comes into the ring."
GHEORGHE: "Doe almost to his corner …. AND HE TAGS IN CARLEE MARX! Marx climbs through the ropes and charges over … AND SHE PICKS UP ALISTER HAYZE!!! Carlee Marx is starting to work over Alister Hayze even though she’s supposed to wait for Whisper to get into the ring!"
JIVE: "Marx is a determined gal!"
GHEORGHE: "Carlee Marx …. MARX WITH A LOW BLOW TO HAYZE!! She bounces off the ropes …. AND …….. GETS NAILED WITH A REVERSE CRESCENT KICK BY WHISPER!! Whisper ran into the ring and caught Carlee Marx off guard with that reverse crescent kick and by God she nearly took Marx’s head off!"
JIVE: "This is getting ridiculous … DREDD should have put this match away ages ago!"
GHEORGHE: "Whisper is now walking around the body of Carlee Marx…. AND SHE IS CALLING FOR THE ILLUMINATION!! Whisper …. Whisper walks over to Carlee Marx …. AND SHE BRINGS HER TO HER FEET!"
(SFX: Crowd pops!!!)
GHEORGHE: "JOHN DOE JUST CHARGED INTO THE RING TO ATTACK WHISPER ….. BUT ALISTER HAYZE SPEARED HIM TO THE MAT!!! THERE IT IS!!! ILLUMINATION!!! WHISPER HIT THE REVERSE NECKBREAKER ON CARLEE MARX …………. ONE ……………… TWO ……………. THREEEEEE!!!!"
JIVE: "NOOOOOOO! This can’t have happened!"
(SFX: Bell rings!)
JACOBS: "The winners of this match ………………… ALISTER HAYZE and WHISPER!"
GHEORGHE: "DREDD goes into their one card suspension without a victory as Jonathan Marx, Carlee Marx and John Doe all go home empty handed tonight in Ottawa!"
(SFX: Crowd quiets down as a man in a black mask runs down the rampway!!)
JIVE: "Who the hell is that?!"
GHEORGHE: "Some man in a black mask has run down to ringside …. AND HE JUST HIT BRANDON JACOBS IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD! Jacobs has gone down like a pile of bricks!! Carlee Marx is in the ring …. AND THIS MAN IN BLACK TAKES HER OUT WITH A SUPERKICK! What in God’s name is happening?!"
JIVE: "I don’t know, Tom … but Alister Hayze and Whisper have gotten out of the ring and they are watching all this go down as they walk up the rampway still celebrating with Madeline."
GHEORGHE: "This man in the mask … he is waiting for Doe to get to his feet ….. AND HE HITS DOE WITH A SUPERKICK!"
JIVE: "Oh God .. not Karla Starr in a black mask again!"
GHEORGHE: "This figure is too big to be Karla Starr, Nick ….. and now … NOW HE’S HEADING UP TOP!!! JOHN DOE IS STREWN ACROSS THE MAT ….. AND THIS MAN FLIES OFF THE TOP ROPE AND CONNECTS WITH A TOP ROPE ELBOW DROP!!"
JIVE: "He hit Doe right in the middle of the sternum!"
GHEORGHE: "The figure gets off him …. AND HE’s GOING BACK UP TOP!! HE FLIES OFF AND HITS ANOTHER TOP ROPE ELBOW DROP!! The referee tries to stop him … and he shoves the referee to the mat …… AND HE IS GOING BACK UP TOP FOR A THIRD TIME!"
JIVE: "We need to get security out here before he permanently injures Doe!"
GHEORGHE: "This masked man raises his arms in the air ….. AND HE CRASHES DOWN A THIRD TIME ON JOHN DOE!! JOHN DOE IS MOTIONLESS IN THE RING!!! FINALLY this masked man is leaving the ri…."
JIVE: "HE’S GETTING A TABLE!"
GHEORGHE: "OH NO! OH NO! This masked man ….. HE IS POURING LIGHTER FLUID ALL OVER THE TABLE!!!"
(SFX: The fans explode!!!)
GHEORGHE: "HE JUST LIT THE TABLE ON FIRE!!!"
JIVE: "WHERE IS SECURITY!?"
GHEORGHE: "THIS MASKED MAN HAS JOHN DOE …… URANAGE SUPLEX RIGHT THROUGH THE BURNING TABLE!!!! JOHN DOE GOES CRASHING THROUGH THE BURNING TABLE AND HERE COMES SECURITY!!!"
JIVE: "It’s too late!! It’s too late!!"
GHEORGHE: "Security is running down the rampway … and here comes Jonathan Marx as well!! This masked man has taken off through the crowd and there goes some security to chase after him!! I can’t believe this!! We’ve gotta go to commercial break…."
(CUTTO: In the ring … a black piece of cloth is left next to Doe’s body that has the DREDD symbol on it crossed off… CUTTO: Commercial.)
