(FADEIN: Alister Hayze, who is walking towards a set of lockerrooms.)
HAYZE: "It’s gotta be one of these … they’re the last ones left."
(He heads to the first one … it says ‘McCORMICK’.)
HAYZE: "Bingo."
(Hayze knocks on it loudly…)
HAYZE: "Ms. MARCEAU? ARE YOU IN THERE?"
(There is no response … after waiting a few seconds … he opens the door…)
HAYZE: "What the …"
(The lockerroom is empty. There are no bags … no clothes … and most importantly, no Juliet Marceau. Hayze looks dejected.)
HAYZE: "Where could she be?"
(CUTTO: Ringside as Hayze walks away, leaving the door open.)
GHEORGHE: "And it looks as if Alister Hayze’s search for Vice President Marceau has reached a dead end. I wonder where she could be, myself, actually."
JIVE: "Who cares what that loser wants … what we’ve got ahead of ourselves is much more interesting .. a single fall triple threat match! Three men in the ring at the same time .. whoever scores the first victory becomes the new Television champion!"
GHEORGHE: "Em Dubbya Gee, John Doe, and Alex Borden … all vying to pick up t he title where Suicide left it .. in the hands of management."
(SFX: Crowd makes noise as New ERA President Marcus LaRoque walks down the aisle.)
JIVE: "And here comes Marcus LaRoque, holding the Television Championship!"
(LaRoque enters the ring.)
LaROQUE: "As you all know, Suicide can no longer participate in professional wrestling for the time being … and as such, I had no other choice than to declare the Television title vacant … and honor the winner of tonight’s triple threat match, with the title and the responsibilities it holds."
JIVE: "Which shouldn’t be that tough .. Suicide, Chaos and Rabesque? Only Doe isn’t talented enough to fill their shoes …"
LaROQUE: "So to whomever may walk out of the ring Champion … I congratulate you in advance."
(LaRoque hands the title to Carl Jacobs, who hands it to the referee.. who in turn hands it to the ring attendant. LaRoque exits the ring and walks over to the broadcast booth.)
LaROQUE: "Mind if I join in?"
GHEORGHE: "Not…"
JIVE: "AT ALL! In fact, I was hoping you’d save me from Tom’s blubbering."
LaROQUE: "This should be a great match … I’d love to see any of those men as Television champion."
JIVE: "You mean, except John Doe.."
LaROQUE: "Including John Doe."
JIVE: "Oh.. well…. Uh …. Let’s get this thing started."
(CUTTO: The Television title belt, sitting on the table. The lineup for the match comes on screen before fading out.)
JACOBS: "The following match is scheduled for ONE FALL and will determine the NEW Television Champion… introducing first…"
(CUEUP: ‘When Worlds Collide’ by Powerman 5000. John Doe walks down the rampway … he enters the ring.)
JACOBS: "He stands six foot one ….and weighs 210 pounds ………… JOHN DOE!"
JIVE: "Booooooo! Hiss!"
(CUEUP: ‘Run Like Hell’ by Kittie. Alex Borden steps through the curtains and walks down the ramp, keeping his eyes on John Doe.)
JACOBS: "And his first opponent … hailing from Cleveland, Ohio .. standing six foot two and weighing 230 pounds ……… ALEX BORDEN!"
LaROQUE: "I’ve been watching Doe and Borden very closely … I know that there is definitely no love lost there…"
GHEORGHE: "You’re telling me!"
(CUEUP: ‘Faggot’ by Mindless Self Indulgence. MWG comes out wearing leopard print tights … he prances to the ring …)
JACOBS: "And their opponent …he hails from where the sun shines and the birds sing ….. he stands six foot three and weighs in at 232 pounds …………… EM DUBBYA GEE!"
(SFX: Bell rings.)
JIVE: "I think its great that all three men are in at the same time .. it should offer a great contrast of styles … and it gives MWG and Borden more chances to bas Doe’s head in."
LaROQUE: "What do you have against John Doe?"
JIVE: "I don’t remember really …"
GHEORGHE: "Don’t ask."
JIVE: "Oh like you do."
GHEORGHE: "All three men are in the ring …. John Doe and Borden are in opposite corners …. AND JOHN DOE CHARGES OUT OF HIS CORNER …… AND ALEX BORDEN CHARGES OUT OF HIS! They meet in the center of the ring and are exchanging blows!"
LaROQUE: "Borden was schooled in boxing … As far as I know, and as far as he knows himself, John Doe wasn’t.."
JIVE: "He likes to think he’s Jason Bourne.."
GHEORGHE: "Borden quickly getting the advantage over John Doe …. And MWG is still standing in his corner!"
JIVE: "Why move? When you’ve got two guys who already dislike each other willing to beat each other senseless .. well then, you’ve already got your work cut out for you."
LaROQUE: "MWG is playing it smart, I have to agree there."
JIVE: "Thank you."
GHEORGHE: "He wasn’t calling you smart, Nick … Borden now with some knees to the gut of John Doe … and he has him bent over …. Alex Borden against the ropes …. AND HE NAILS JOHN DOE WITH A EUROPEAN UPPERCUT! John Doe goes flying back into the corner …. And now Alex Borden is in there after him! And Alex Borden climbs the second turnbuckle … AND NOW HE IS HITTING JOHN DOE WITH SOME CLOSED FISTS!"
CROWD: "ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! SEVEN!"
JIVE: "Here comes MWG!"
LaROQUE: "And the perfect opportunity, nonetheless."
GHEORGHE: "MWG walking behind Alex Borden …. AND HE YANKS HIM BY THE HEAD AND THROWS BORDEN TO THE MAT!!! And now MWG is climbing the second turnbuckle … and HE starts pummeling Doe!"
JIVE: "I like this match already."
CROWD: "ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!"
GHEORGHE: "But Alex Borden isn’t going to let him get away with it …. Borden pulls MWG down from the second turnbuckle … he turns MWG around ….. AND TOSSES HIM with a beautifully executed belly to belly suplex."
LaROQUE: "A la Scott Steiner … Alex Borden has really managed to integrate his boxing and wrestling backgrounds into one cohesive unit."
GHEORGHE: "And now it is John Doe who is getting the slight breather in the cor… I spoke too soon.."
JIVE: "That’s how much of an idiot he is … he has Alex Borden and MWG fighting … and instead of staying in the corner, he needs to get himself involved."
LaROQUE: "Well, he doesn’t want Borden to get any opportunities to score the pinfall… John Doe’s already lost one chance at winning the Television title … I doubt he wants to lose a second."
GHEORGHE: "That’s true. John Doe was in the finals of the Television Championship tournament, which he lost to Jean Rabesque way back in Greensboro, North Carolina."
JIVE: "Too bad we couldn’t lose HIM in Greensboro."
GHEORGHE: "Doe out … and he rakes the eyes of Borden from behind …. Doe now dropping to his knees …. FIREMAN’s CARRY! John Doe locks in a headlock … and drives the face of Alex Borden into the mat! John Doe now flipping over the back of Borden … AND HE ROLLS HIM OVER …. ONE ……… TWO …….. KICKOUT BY BORDEN!"
JIVE: "And MWG is back to his feet … thank God Borden kicked out, or else John Doe would have been the Television champion … I don’t even WANT to picture a Jean Rabesque / John Doe team leading this company. We’d be bankrupt faster than you can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"
LaROQUE: "We’re doing quite well financially, actually."
GHEORGHE: "MWG walking over to Doe as he gets up …. MWG with an irish whip …. Doe against the ropes …… Doe comes back…… MWG puts his head down ….. John Doe with the leapfrog over the back of MWG ……… BUT HE GETS CAUGHT IN THE SPINEBUSTER OF ALEX BORDEN!!!! Borden with the quick cover ….. ONE ………… TWO …….. AND MWG TURNS AROUND TO MAKE THE SAVE!"
LaROQUE: "MWG was wondering where Doe went … and luckily for him, he turned around in the nick of time."
JIVE: "You should make this an elimination match .. that way we don’t have to worry about Doe getting a fluke win."
LaROQUE: "The match is going to stay a single fall match, Nick."
GHEORGHE: "MWG drops the elbow onto Alex Borden …. BUT BORDEN MOVES AND MWG HITS JOHN DOE INSTEAD! MWG gets up ….. AND ALEX BORDEN SPEARS HIM TO THE MAT!!! BORDEN NOW WITH A FLURRY OF FISTS TO THE FACE OF MWG!"
JIVE: "You don’t mess with MWG’s face … its bad enough Beau Michaels left him in the cold … but now Borden is trying to keep him single forever!"
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden gets off MWG … and goes and picks up John Doe …. He brings Doe over to MWG … and now he picks up MWG ……… AND ALEX BORDEN BANGS THEIR HEADS TOGHETER! John Doe and MWG walk in separate directions …. AND ALEX BORDEN WITH A BULLDOG ON MWG!!!! Borden now up quickly …. AND HE DDTs JOHN DOE TO THE MAT!"
LaROQUE: "By getting both men on the mat, he can pick and choose and hopefully not have to worry about which one will interfere."
JIVE: "Please pin Doe!"
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden covers MWG ….. ONE …….. TW—NO … MWG manages to kick out after one!"
JIVE: "Serves Borden right for choosing the wrong guy."
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden back on his feet… and now he walks over to John Doe …. Borden picks up Doe …. AND DOE WITH A SMALL PACKAGE! ONE …….. TWO ….. KICKOUT BY BORDEN!"
LaROQUE: "And I think Nick just wet his pants!"
JIVE: "No I didn’t!"
(Jive looks down, just in case.)
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden back to his feet quickly at attack Doe …. BUT MWG TURNS HIM AROUND AND PLANTS HIM INTO THE MAT WITH THE DISAPPEAR HERE DDT!!!!!!!"
JIVE: "It’s OVER!"
GHEORGHE: "The cover …… ONE. ……….. TWO …………"
LaROQUE: "And John Doe makes the save!"
GHEORGHE: "John Doe dove to break up the pinfall attempt … and now he and MWG are fighting it out! MWG sends Doe into the corner …. And MWG now drives a shoulder right into the midsection of John Doe!"
JIVE: "With the way these three are going at it .. it wouldn’t surprise me if whoever wins has to forfeit the title due to injury!"
LaROQUE: "Let’s hope not.."
GHEORGHE: "MWG hooks the head of John Doe …. AND HE PLACES HIM ON THE TOP ROPE!!! MWG IS GOING UP TOP WITH JOHN DOE!"
JIVE: "I always love watching this happen."
GHEORGHE: "BUT ALEX BORDEN IS GETTING TO HIS FEET! Borden is looking around the ring … AND HE SEES WHAT IS GOING ON AND IS RUSHING OVER TO THE CORNER!"
(SFX: Huge pop.)
CROWD: "HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!"
GHEORGHE: "AND MWG WITH A SUPERPLEX ….. .AND JOHN DOE JUST SQUASHED ALEX BORDEN!!! Borden was on his way to the corner when MWG started the superplex …. And there was no way he could get out of the way in time …. All 210 pounds … in motion ….. just falling on top of Alex Borden!"
LaROQUE: "All three men are down on the mat… and none look to be in good shape after that!"
JIVE: "Borden got it the worst though … because MWG and Doe were at least cushioned somewhat by him!"
GHEORGHE: "MWG is stirring a little … and Doe is moving his legs …. MWG is getting to his feet …. And now MWG is picking up Alex Borden ……. MWG JUST TOSSED ALEX BORDEN OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE ARENA FLOOR!"
JIVE: "If Borden’s on the arena floor, AND passed out, there’s no way he can break up MWG’s pinfall! INGENIOUS!"
LaROQUE: "Borden looks to be out for a while!"
GHEORGHE: "MWG now picking up John Doe ….. AND JOHN DOE WITH A HARD UPPERCUT TO THE JAW OF MWG! MWG reels back …. John Doe charges at him …. CLOTHESLINES him to the mat! John Doe picking MWG up off the mat …… he hooks the waist …….. AND HE GERMAN SUPLEXES HIM TO THE MAT! Doe rolls over ……… AND HE GERMAN SUPLEXES HIM A SECOND TIME! Doe rolls over one more time …. AND THERE IT IS … the GERMAN SUPLEX TIMES THREE!"
JIVE: "NO! I need Alex Borden back in the ring, and totally conscious!"
LaROQUE: "I don’t think that’s a possibility right now, Nick."
GHEORGHE: "John Doe looks around the ring … and sees no Borden …. JOHN DOE IS HEADING UP TOP!"
LaROQUE: "I’m not sure if this is a wise move or not .. but I guess when a title is on the line, you need to pull out as many stops as you can."
GHEORGHE: "John Doe is perched atop the ropes ….. he measures MWG …… FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH!!!!! John Doe covers MWG ……… ONE …………….. TWO …………………. THREE!"
JIVE: "NO! HE ONLY GOT TWO! HE ONLY GOT TWO!"
LaROQUE: "MWG somehow managed to kick out after two and 99 point 99ths…. And John Doe rolls off of him and onto his back!"
GHEORGHE: "Like I said .. you gotta pull out all the stops … John Doe is trying his hardest … but MWG kept him from winning this match by instinct … I highly doubt that MWG was in the right state of mind to kick out … that was pure instinct there."
JIVE: "Well we should pay him a bonus for that instinct.. make it happen LaRoque."
LaROQUE: "I don’t handle finances … that’s Juliet’s job."
GHEORGHE: "John Doe is getting to his feet ….. he picks MWG up from off the mat ………… AND SENDS HIM BACK DOWN WITH A SPINEBUSTER!!! JOHN DOE IS CALLING FOR THE AMNESIA ATTACK! HE WANTS TO END THIS THING RIGHT NOW!"
JIVE: "If he wins the Television title, he WILL end New ERA!"
GHEORGHE: "I meant the match…"
LaROQUE: "Doe has MWG on his feet!"
GHEORGHE: "Doe sends MWG into the ropes ….. Doe goes against the far ropes ………………………… AMNESIA ATTACK!!! JOHN DOE HITS THE AMNESIA ATTACK!!!! ONE …………………. TWO ………………………………….. THREE……"
JIVE: "ALEX BORDEN JUST PULLED JOHN DOE OFF OF MWG BEFORE THREE!!! Ha, ha!!!!!!! Tough shit, DOE!"
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden pulls John Doe to the outside …….. Doe looks stunned!!! Alex Borden with a knee lift to the midsection ….. AND HE HAS JOHN DOE BETWEEN HIS LEGS!!! ALEX BORDEN LIFTS JOHN DOE UP ……. OH NO…."
JIVE: "WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING COMING THIS WAY?!"
LaROQUE: "Excuse me…"
(Marcus LaRoque takes off his headset and starts walking away from the announce table … he makes his way around the ring and stands over by the rampway..)
GHEORGHE: "NO! NO!"
(SFX: CROWD POPS HUGE!)
CROWD: "N . E . W ! N . E . W !"
GHEORGHE: "ALEX BORDEN JUST POWERBOMBED JOHN DOE THROUGH OUR BROADCAST TABLE!!!! DOE IS LYING AMONGST OUR TELEPROMPTERS AND EVERYTHING!"
JIVE: "You got what you deserved, punk!!"
GHEORGHE: "Alex Borden is now sliding into the ring ….. he goes to cover MWG ….. but he stops! ALEX BORDEN IS LOCKING THE CHOKE OUT ON MWG! MWG IS IN THE CENTER OF THE RING ……. AND JOHN DOE IS LYING IN THE DEBRIS OF OUR TABLE ……………. AND THE REFEREE IS CALLING FOR THE BELL!! ALEX BORDEN IS OUR NEW TELEVISION CHAMPION!!!!!"
(SFX: Bell rings!)
JACOBS: "The winner of this match ………. And NEEEEWW TELEVISION CHAMPION ……… ALEX BORDEN!"
JIVE: "THANK GOD!"
GHEORGHE: "Ladies and gentlemen ….. WE ARE OUT OF TIME! Thank you all for joining us …. We have got to get some order restored to this place ……… join us next edition of RAUCOUS when we come to you LIVE from ARIZONA! For Nick Jive, I’m Tom Gheorghe… and THANKS FOR TUNING IN!"
