PRESENTS ....

(CUTTO: Jive and Gheorghe sitting at the announcer's table.) 

JIVE: "That remains the most disappointing event in the history of New ERA, simply disappointing." 

GHEORGHE: "Don't get your panties in a wad there Nick, it was just a match."

JIVE: "And what about ANTAEUS? He just attacked Jean Rabesque!"

GHEORGHE: "Marcus LaRoque has all personnel on the trail of ANTAEUS .. and he won't get away!" 

JIVE: "But WARRIOR as the ULTIMATE SURPRISE! How pathetic is that! And the way that he took out Cane! AWFUL!" 

GHEORGHE: "Keep in mind that this was a one time only event, Nick. Warrior is gone from New ERA after tonight. He was brought in for this match only to take care of Trevor Cane, and well, he did do exactly that." 

JIVE: "That makes me feel a lot better though ... Anyways, that was still a moment, however pathetic, and now the only thing left tonight to make me happy is to see that punk Rabesque absolutely destroyed!" 

GHEORGHE: (rolling eyes) "Well, let's head up to the ring for our next contest." 

(CUTTO: Carl Jacobs standing in the middle of the ring. The lineup flashes on the screen.)

JACOBS: "The following contest is scheduled for one fall."

(CUEUP: "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin)

JACOBS: " Making his way to the ring, from Greensboro, North Carolina, weighing in at 265 pounds, TROY DOUGLAS!" 

(The crowd cheers as Douglas makes his way to the ring wearing black boots and dark green full length tights, he raises a hand to the crowd upon entering the ring, and faces the ramp, CUEUP: "The Touch" by Stan Bush) 

JACOBS: "And his opponent, accompanied to the ring by Brandon Jacobs, from Princeton NJ, weighing in at 215 pounds, "THE GENTLEMEN" JONATHAN MARX!" 

(No one comes out from the back.)

GHEORGHE: "Where is Marx? Isn't he going to be out here to prove to Douglas just who the better wrestler is?"

JIVE: "Mind games, Tom."

(Crowd boos as Marx walks to the ring, Jacobs following behind him, Marx simply slides into the ring, little reaction as he and Douglas stare each other down)

GHEORGHE: "About time...

(SFX: Bell rings) 

GHEORGHE: "And Marx and Douglas are staring each other down here in the middle of the ring as this one is ready to get started. Collar and elbow tie up and Douglas pushes Marx down into the corner. Marx back up and the result is the same on yet another tie-up, except this time Marx is shoved completely into the turnbuckle. The crowd cheers and Douglas laughs at Marx. Marx is back up and wants to try again, only this time he ducks on Douglas into a standing switch, PICKS UP DOUGLAS and takes him down to the mat." 

JIVE: "Atta' boy Jon, way to show off the technical expertise there!" 

GHEORGHE: "Marx staying on top of Douglas, reaching for the side headlock. Douglas is powering up now, as Marx attempts to hold on, and Douglas whips Marx over his head, and takes him down to the mat." 

JIVE: "Illegal move, he had a fistful of hair there." 

GHEORGHE: "What are you talking about?" 

JIVE: "You saw it, don't try to lie to me, it's ok though, because Jonathan Marx will surmount whatever obstacle is placed in front of him! 

GHEORGHE: "Not looking good right now however, as Douglas picks up Marx, and hits a nicely executed powerslam on him, taking the technical master down. Douglas picks up Marx to a sitting position, and hits several kicks right to the back of Marx, and Marx is definitely feeling the effects of that right now." 

JIVE: "Nice strategy by Douglas slowing down the pace, but it's not going to be enough." 

GHEORGHE: "Douglas now picks up Marx, and a backbreaker! It has become abundantly obvious what part of the body Douglas is going to attempt to work right here." 

JIVE: "What's that?" 

GHEORGHE: "You're unbelievable, you know that? Anyways, Marx has rolled to the outside and is being consoled by Brandon Jacobs, and Douglas decides he wants to join in the action out there. He grabs Marx and throws him into the stairs, NO! Marx reverses and Douglas is sent crashing into the stairs on the outside, this will give Marx a little time to recuperate." 

JIVE: "See what I mean, simply the man!" 

GHEORGHE: "Marx now is measuring Douglas, he runs and puts a flying knee right into the sternum of Douglas, and now Marx is throwing him back into the ring, quick cover, ONE ........ TWO ........ NO! And Douglas manages to kick out." 

JIVE: "Looked like three to me, we're definitely going to have to do something here about the terrible officiating that has infiltrated New ERA as of late." 

GHEORGHE: "Marx staying on the attack. DDT to Douglas! And Marx rolls right into a half crab out of the DDT!" 

JIVE: "Amazing! Simply amazing!" 

GHEORGHE: "Marx is wrenching at that leg now as Douglas is attempting to power out. Douglas' only option is to make it to the ropes and he does that quickly to break the hold. Marx had that hold on for a good solid minute now and that must have taken some life out of Douglas" 

JIVE: "If Douglas is so much stronger, why couldn't he just power out of the hold?" 

GHEORGHE: "When you've been on the opposite end of Jonathan Marx, you'll know that very quickly he can take you out of your element." 

JIVE: "And you know this how....?" 

GHEORGHE: "I'm no fool Nick, I can see that with my own two eyes. I definitely don't need to be in there to experience for it myself. Marx and Douglas are now up to a standing base, Marx throws Douglas into the ropes, flying elbow, cover, ONE ....... TWO ......... NO! Another cover, ONE .......... TWO .......... NO!! Again, ONE ............ TWO .......... THR--NOOOOO!!" 

JIVE: "Great strategy there, making Douglas continually exert the energy to kick out. Most ‘average' wrestlers would never think to do that, but that's just another example of what sets Jonathan Marx apart from the rest of the pack." 

GHEORGHE: "But that's NOT an example Nick, as Marx ducked his head too early on an attempted backbody drop, and he got a kick square to the teeth as a result, and now both men are down! Douglas gets back to his feet, T-BONE SUPLEX! Cover! ONE ..... TWO ........ NO! Douglas staying on the attack now, Fisherman's DDT! Here's a bridge, ONE ........ TWO .......... THREE--NO!!! Marx got his shoulder up just before the referee's hand was going to hit for three. Douglas is staying on the attack some, double armed DDT! 1-2-and again Marx just got his shoulder up! The crowd thought that he had the three count there." 

JIVE: "This isn't right, and I know this is just an aberration!" 

GHEORGHE: "And right now Douglas is calling for the Broken Dream, and Brandon Jacobs is announcing his presence in the match. Now what on Earth is he doing this for?" 

JIVE: "He just wasn't very happy with the view, and he felt like he would upgrade a bit. That's all he's doing, he just wants a closer look." 

GHEORGHE: "You're full of it Nick, and right now Douglas is walking over to Jacobs and the two are jawing at each other. And now Douglas grabs Jacobs by the shoulder! Marx from behind, ONE .... TWO ............ NO! A small package by Marx out of nowhere almost stunned Douglas for the pinfall, but he managed to get his shoulder out JUST in time!" 

JIVE: "Again, more master strategy by the team." 

GHEORGHE: "TEAM? This is a singles match!" 

JIVE: "So? What's your point?" 

GHEORGHE: "You continue to amaze. Whatever the reasoning, that temporary distraction managed to buy Marx a little time as Douglas gets back to his feet, and a kick to the stomach by Marx followed by a swinging neckbreaker and both men are down in the middle of the ring!" 

JIVE: "Get up Marx! Finish this punk off!" 

GHEORGHE: "The referee has begun his count and both men are stirring, trying to be the first to make it to his feet. Both men make it approximately at the same time as the referee was making it to 8 on his count, and now the wrestlers are fighting it out in the middle of the ring!" 

JIVE: "Come on Jon, this is NOT what you want to be doing in this match, take him back to the mat where you're the best in the world." 

GHEORGHE: "Slugging it out now, Marx misses a right, SPINEBUSTER by Douglas! BROKEN DREAM! The faceplant suplex has Marx out! ONE ...... TWO ......... THREE!!! NO! Marx got a foot on the rope!" 

JIVE: "He knew where he was all along! No doubt about it!" 

GHEORGHE: "Douglas is arguing with the official, but it's going to be in vain, as Jonathan Marx just managed to get his foot on the bottom rope, and it appears as though now he wants to put the finishing touches on this match. He could be going for the End of the Road. He is dragging Marx to the corner and has him set up for it. He lifts Marx to the heavens, and Marx reverses!!! He caught Douglas coming back down and drove Douglas' face to the mat in the corner!!!" 

JIVE: "WHAT A REVERSAL!!" 

GHEORGHE: "And now Marx is going for the Marxism!! HE HAS IT LOCKED!" 

JIVE: "YES!!!" 

GHEORGHE: "But Douglas it too close to the ring ropes, and Marx has to release the hold, the crowd is on the edge of its seat as Douglas makes it back to his feet. Marx goes for a kick, Douglas catches, Marx spins, Marx ducks a clothesline, and pulls his leg back in one motion! Marx misses the clothesline now, SPEAR COMING BY DOUGLAS!" 

JIVE: "NO!" 

GHEORGHE: "Marx moves at the last minute and Douglas crashes his shoulder into the ring post, shoulder to the back of the knee! Both the knee and the shoulder of Douglas has been taken out!!" 

JIVE: "And you know what that means!!!" 

GHEORGHE: "MARXISM IS ON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!" 

JIVE: "TAP!!!!" 

GHEORGHE: "Douglas is holding on as the crowd cheers! He scoots to the ropes! He's going to make it!! But Marx rolls through! DOUGLAS TAPS!!!" 

JIVE: "YES! The better man won!!" 

JACOBS: "Here is your winner, ‘GENTLEMAN' JONATHAN MARX!!!'"

(CUEUP: "The Touch" by Stan Bush. CUTTO: Marx having his hand raised as Jacobs enters the ring, Marx merely looks down at Douglas as he exits the ring.) 

GHEORGHE: "A hard fought match between two stars of New ERA." 

JIVE: "Eh, one star, and I'll tell you right now, whether it's Tact or Rabesque, after tonight, Jonathan Marx is the next New ERA champ!" 

GHEORGHE: "You actually might be right there Nick. And there's a match coming up that I know you're going to love ... Caitlyn Daymon versus Marrisa McMahon..." 

JIVE: "YES!"
