GHEORGHE: "He is not tapping, Nick. Marx trying to get some momentum .. and he’s trying to find some way to counter the move .. but the Phantom Republican has it perfectly executed!"
JULIUS: "This is where you’ll see the real champion come through. GOP is in control of this match now."
GHEORGHE: "GOP continually yanking on the arm of Marx as he has his legs locked … BUT MARX QUICKLY ROLLS OVER AND PUTS GOP IN A PINNING COMBINATION! ONE! TWO! TH—KICKOUT!"
JULIUS: "What I meant to say is that GOP should watch out for what just happened."
GHEORGHE: "Marx used the momentum of GOP yanking his arm enabling him to roll to the side and to his feet to pin GOP’s shoulders to the mat .. and he almost got him!"
JIVE: "The Phantom Republican was able to get out of it though just by releasing the juji-gatame armbar."
GHEORGHE: "Both men getting to their feet .. but Marx’s arm looks like it has had a hammer taken to it. Marx not ready for GOP .. and Republican with a knife edge chop to the chest of the champ! GOP now … grabs Marx … and a HARD irish whip into the corner … GOP on the ropes as Marx stumbles out … AND THE DEFICIT RUNNER CLOTHESLINE!"
JIVE: "There’s more where that came from."
GHEORGHE: "GOP now dragging Marx over to the ropes … and he rests his throat on the second rope!"
JIVE: "Payback time!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee checking on Marx as GOP uses the far ropes for momentum … BUT DOE PULLS DOWN THE TOP ROPE AND GOP GOES FLYING OVER TO THE ARENA FLOOR…. AND NOW DOE IS DRIVING HIS BOOTS INTO THE HEAD OF THE FORMER WORLD CHAMPION!"
JULIUS: "Jeeves has had enough and he’s coming over to protect his employer .. AND JEEVES JUST ATTACKED DOE!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee looks over at all the commotion and now he’s coming to the outside!"
JULIUS: "I hate it when the referees go to the outside … I feel like there’s an imaginary obstacle course that only they seem to fuck up and hit…"
GHEORGHE: "The referee finally breaking up Jeeves and John Doe ..."
(SFX: Crowd pops!)
GHEORGHE: "AND HE IS SENDING EVERYONE BACK TO THE LOCKERROOM!"
JIVE: "Say goodbye to DREDD .. say goodbye to Jeffords. Whoever wins this match is going to win it one on one!"
JULIUS: "Yes, but Doe has already done his damage … GOP is still on the arena floor."
GHEORGHE: "GOP is on the arena floor .. Marx has finally gotten himself from strewn across the second rope and is sitting up on the mat. Both men looking weary!"
JIVE: "Yes, but Jonathan Marx is sitting up .. while GOP is on his stomach still."
GHEORGHE: "Well now that the referee is back in the ring he’s starting to count the Phantom Republican out … and GOP pushes himself up … and he’s on his knees!"
JIVE: "But Marx is getting to his feet!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx resting, using the ropes … on the far side, GOP is starting to use the side of the ring to get to his feet … and he does! BUT JONATHAN MARX COMES OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A BASEBALL SLIDE RIGHT TO THE HEAD OF GOP!"
JULIUS: "GOP just went flying back into the guardrail.. and Marx is starting to come outside."
GHEORGHE: "The referee is leaning in between the ropes to get both men back in the ring .. but I think Marx has had enough of the Phantom Republican! Jonathan Marx grabs GOP … AND SLAMS HIS HEAD INTO THE ARENA FLOOR! AND NOW MARX IS PULLING THE PADDED AREA OFF!! He is exposing the concrete!"
JIVE: "Only bad things happen once this is done!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx now grabs the Phantom Republican.. he brings him to the side .. and I think he’s going to suplex him onto the concrete! MARX HAS GOP UP … BUT GOP FIGHTS IT!"
JIVE: "Let’s hope that Marx doesn’t end up on the concrete that he exposed!"
GHEORGHE: "AND GOP WITH A SUPLEX OF HIS OWN!"
JULIUS: "No! Marx managed to maneuver his way and land on his feet behind GOP!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP turns … AND MARX WITH A SPEAR ……. RIGHT ONTO THE EXPOSED CONCRETE!"
JIVE: "Wow.. both men went crashing to the floor, but GOP was the victim of both the spear and the concrete hitting his back and head!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee is now coming back to the outside to check on both men! But he stops after stepping through the ropes .. and starts his count back up!"
JULIUS: "After that move both men might as well be counted out!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee is up to five now .. AND MARX IS STARTING TO MOVE! The World champion is on his feet .. .AND HE GRABS GOP AND ROLLS HIM INTO THE RING!"
JIVE: "Marx is fighting like a champion should … maybe people were guessing prematurely that GOP would take back his championship tonight."
GHEORGHE: "Marx slides in after .. and HE COVERS GOP! ONE ………. TWO ………… THREE!!! NOOOOOO!!!! GOP GOT THE FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE AT THE LAST SECOND!"
JULIUS: "I can almost feel the pain in my head from watching these two battle it out .. either that or Nick Jive’s voice is starting to give me a headache."
JIVE: "I could say the same about your cologne."
GHEORGHE: "Marx rolls off of Phantom Republican and they are both looking straight up at the bright lights here in Madison Square Garden."
JULIUS: "This match has swung back and forth … but the Champion seems to be faring a little bit better right now."
GHEORGHE: "Marx sits up .. and he looks over at his challenger… and now he’s getting to his feet. Jonathan Marx bends down and he grabs GOP. Marx with GOP and he puts him in the corner … AND HE STARTS WITH THE REVERSE KNIFE EDGE CHOPS!"
CROWD: "WHOOOOO! WHOOOOO!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx continuing with those chops .. and NOW HE CLIMBS ON THE SECOND ROPE AND STARTS POUNDING AWAY AT THE FACE OF PHANTOM REPUBLICAN!"
CROWD: "THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE! TEN!"
JULIUS: "As if the crowd weren’t already worked up enough!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx hops off … GOP comes forward … BUT MARX HOOKS THE WAIST AND TAKES HIM OVER WITH THE BELLY TO BELLY!"
JIVE: "Where Marx is getting the strength is beyond me!"
GHEORGHE: "He’s getting it from being the New ERA of Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion. He’s getting it from holding his first World championship of his career!"
JULIUS: "But will that be enough to stop the Phantom Republican?!"
GHEORGHE: "Jonathan Marx walks over to the Phantom Republican and he flips him onto his stomach … AND HE’s TRYING TO GRAB THE LEGS OF GOP! He’s trying to lock on the Marxism!"
JIVE: "BUT GOP KICKS FREE!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx with some boots to the back of the head …. And now he reaches down to grab GOP … BUT GOP WITH A SMALL PACKAGE! ONE! TWO! THREE—NO!!!"
JULIUS: "GOP almost stole the championship back!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx quickly back to his feet and he drops the elbow on GOP … BUT NO ONE’s HOME! GOP rolled out of the way and both men are back on the mat!"
JIVE: "Both men are on their own … DREDD isn’t here … Jeffords isn’t here.."
GHEORGHE: "And that’s the way it SHOULD be! Jonathan Marx slowly sitting up as he holds his elbow .. that’s the same arm that GOP was working over earlier and you know that he is feeling the pain."
JULIUS: "These guys have been giving it their all .. and they’re still coming back for more. I haven’t seen something this sick since I accidentally opened up Jive’s luggage and found that gag ball."
JIVE: "That was a joke gift!"
JULIUS: "A gag gift, huh?"
JIVE: "Yes! I MEAN NO! Why did you even bother to show up tonight!"
GHEORGHE: "Jonathan Marx trying to get to his feet before GOP can get anymore breathing time .. BUT GOP IS STARTING TO MOVE! GOP IS ON THE ROPES! Marx is up AND HE RUNS AND HOPS ON THE BACK OF THE PHANTOM REPUBLICAN!"
JIVE: "BUT GOP MOVED!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP moved out of the way and Marx hits the ropes and falls back … AND GOP COVERS HIM … GOP PUTS HIS FEET ON THE SECOND ROPE! ONE …….. TWO ………. THREE!!!"
JULIUS: "The ref saw GOP with his feet on the ropes! He stopped the count before the three!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee is now scolding GOP for putting his feet on the ropes .. but GOP ignores him as he stomps on the arm of Jonathan Marx! Marx trying to protect his arm … and now GOP drives an elbow into the sternum!"
JIVE: "If I thought I couldn’t call who the champion would be a few minutes ago, I know for sure that I definitely cannot now."
GHEORGHE: "GOP grabs Marx by the hair and rips him to his feet … AND HE SCOOPS MARX UP!"
JULIUS: "The fact that GOP has enough strength to pick Marx up this late in the game is a testament to his will. He WILL once again be the World Champion!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP takes a few steps … AND A SHOULDERBREAKER … AND GOP PICKS HIM BACK UP …. ANOTHER SHOULDERBREAKER!"
JIVE: "The Trickle Down Thuganomics! Those alternating shoulderbreakers are devastating … especially with the work done earlier to the arm of Marx."
GHEORGHE: "GOP finally drops Marx to the mat and grabs the legs … FLIPPING CRADLE … ONE ….. TWO ……. THREE! NOOOOO! Jonathan Marx got the shoulder out!"
JIVE: "I thought for sure that with the momentum of the hold, especially the fact that Marx’s legs were being used as leverage against him, would have been enough for GOP.."
GHEORGHE: "The Phantom Republican once again bringing Marx to his feet … and this time he irish whips him to the ropes … Marx on the way back … AND GOP WITH A POWER SLAM! ONE ……. TWO …….. THREE!!"
JIVE: "MARX KICKS OUT AGAIN!"
GHEORGHE: "These falls are getting closer and closer .. and I think that Jonathan Marx is starting to run out of gas!"
JULIUS: "He’s already out of gas .. both of them are .. they’re running on whatever little trickles of liquid is left in their tanks."
GHEORGHE: "Phantom Republican looks around as he is on his knees … and you can sense the urgency of putting this match away."
JIVE: "You can tell his mind is working over time just by the way he’s moving."
GHEORGHE: "GOP on his feet … AND LISTEN TO THE FANS!"
(SFX: Fans start making all sorts of noise, mostly cheers, as GOP gets on his feet and rests his arms over the top rope. There’s stomping going on that begins to get louder.)
GHEORGHE: "The fans may not like the Phantom Republican.. they may not like DREDD and Jonathan Marx .. but they like elite wrestling .. and that is what both men are giving them tonight in this World Title match!"
JIVE: "And it’s not over yet, either!"
GHEORGHE: "The challenger and former World champion walks over to Marx .. and he’s bringing him to his feet … GOP spins Marx around … and hoists him high in the air and drops him down for the atomic drop!"
JULIUS: "As if Marx didn’t have enough problems already .."
GHEORGHE: "GOP stalking Marx from behind .. AND HE GRABS THE ARM …. GOP with the Half-Nelson ….. AND IT’s A TERROR ALERT ORANGE! That KATAHAJIME submission hold … AND MARX IS FLAILING ABOUT!"
JIVE: "Stick a fork in him, he’s done!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx trying DESPERATELY to get out of the hold … but GOP has it locked on … AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!"
JULIUS: "What are the chances of Marx getting out of this hold with the championship?"
GHEORGHE: "Slim and none .. and slim left the building a long time ago!"
JIVE: "Marx looks like he’s starting to fade into obscurity…"
GHEORGHE: "GOP YELLING AT MARX ….."
(SFX: CROWD EXPLODES.)
GHEORGHE: "MY GOD!! JONATHAN MARX JUST USED EVERY MUSCLE IN HIS BODY TO SLAM BACKWARDS AND BOTH MEN GO CRASHING TO THE MAT! THE HOLD IS BROKEN!"
JULIUS: "I guess slim decided to come back for an encore, huh?"
GHEORGHE: "This whole place has gone bananas!"
JIVE: "GOP looks like he cracked his skull on the mat pretty hard … Marx is on life support after being in the katahajime … and the World championship is on the line here at BattleBRAWL 2!"
GHEORGHE: "The referee WAS counting both men on the mat … but I think even HE knows that a no decision in this match would not do either man justice … so he’s stopped and is now checking on both men."
JULIUS: "Probably the wisest decision I have ever seen an official make .. well besides naming Shawn Hart the winner of tonight’s rumble. You know he is in the back right now smiling his little mouth off."
GHEORGHE: "The fans haven’t stopped causing a ruckus since the kahtahajime … AND NOW PHANTOM REPUBLICAN IS STARTING TO MOVE!! GOP IS MOVING TOWARDS THE ROPES!"
JIVE: "How do they do it!?"
GHEORGHE: "GOP is getting closer and closer to the ropes .. and he’s moving EXTREMELY slow after taking that shot to the head from the fall………… MARX IS MOVING! THE WORLD CHAMPION IS USING THE ROPES NEAR HIM TO CLIMB TO HIS FEET!! MY GOD BOTH MEN ARE ON THEIR FEET!"
JULIUS: "It’s pandemonium here in Madison Square Garden!"
GHEORGHE: "Jonathan Marx … Phantom Republican … they’re coming together in the middle of the ring!"
JIVE: "It looks like a train has hit both men!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP makes the first move … AND HE ROCKS MARX BACK WITH A LEFT HAND! AND ANOTHER! Now Marx is fighting back! A RIGHT HOOK! ANOTHER! MARX WITH A THIRD …. BUT GOP DUCKS! GOP GRABS MARX …. HE BRINGS HIM UP IN THE TORTURE RACK ……. AND DROPS MARX DOWN WITH THE BACKBREAKER!"
JIVE: "You mean the Tax-Breaker!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP with the cover …… ONE ……….. TWO ………….. THREE—NOOOOOOO!!! MARX KICKED OUT! MARX KICKED OUT!"
JULIUS: "The fat lady hasn’t sung yet!"
GHEORGHE: "And both men are back on the mat! I can’t believe this … The Phantom Republican and Jonathan Marx are giving it all here tonight and for good reason!"
JULIUS: "The fans are living and dying with each moment here … and you know that Jive is hiding his erection under the broadcast booth!"
JIVE: "I am going to cut you!"
GHEORGHE: "Fellas! This is an incredible match and you guys are tal…. WAIT! PHANTOM REPUBLICAN IS GETTING TO HIS FEET!!!"
JULIUS: "I can’t fucking believe it!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP …. GOP IS HEADING TO THE CORNER!! HE’s GOING UP TOP!"
JIVE: "I think we’re going to see that Star Wars high-arching moonsault!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP is VERY slowly going through the ropes … and he’s starting to climb up top ….. BUT JONATHAN MARX JUST GOT UP! MARX LOOKING AROUND AS GOP IS TRYING TO HURRY TO THE TOP!"
JULIUS: "GOP just got caught!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx runs over to the corner … AND HE’s GOT GOP! He’s going to catapult him off the top turnbu… NOOO! GOP WITH A RAKE OF THE EYES AND HE HOPS DOWN SAFELY!"
JIVE: "He was spared certain doom there!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx turns … AND GOP WITH A BOOT TO THE GUT! GOP HOOKS MARX …. AND HE BRINGS HIM UP …. GOP WITH THE MOAB!"
JIVE: "NO! NO! NO! THE MOMENTUM TOOK MARX DOWN THE BACK OF GOP!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP TURNS ……… AND JONATHAN MARX WITH A STUNNER!!! BOTH MEN ARE ON THE MAT AGAIN!"
JULIUS: "I can’t handle this shit … I’m losing years off my life watching this match!"
GHEORGHE: "The World Champion …. HE JUST SAT UP! MARX IS SOMEHOW GETTING TO HIS FEET!"
JIVE: "Phantom Republican is still on his stomach near the ropes though!"
GHEORGHE: "Marx … Marx is walking towards GOP … AND HE GRABS THE LEGS OF THE FORMER CHAMPION!!! MARX PLACES HIS LEG IN BETWEEN ….. AND HE’s REACHING FORWARD TO APPLY THE STF!!"
JIVE: "GOP is close to the ropes … but I can’t tell if he’s close enough…"
GHEORGHE: "AND MARX LOCKS ON THE STF!!! GOP IS LOCKED IN THE MARXISM!"
JULIUS: "He is so close to the ropes! He can get them!"
GHEORGHE: "JONATHAN MARX YANKING BACK …… AND GOP IS REACHING OUT … HE IS REACHING FOR THE ROPES TO BREAK THE MARXISM!"
JIVE: "His fingers are almost touching … but he can’t quite grab them … and Marx is bending him back further away!"
GHEORGHE: "Jonathan Marx, the New ERA of Wrestling World Champion, has his finishing maneuver on .. AND GOP CAN’T BREAK FREE! The crowd is in a frenzy … I’m sure everyone in the back is glued to a television set …."
JULIUS: "The Phantom Republican is reaching out … but … I don’t think he can reach the ropes anymore! I think it is going to be too much too late!"
GHEORGHE: "Phantom Republican is struggling as Marx vigorously applies pressure .. and LOOK AT THE SWEAT DRIPPING OFF MARX’s FACE!"
JIVE: "Where is Jeffords when you need him most?"
GHEORGHE: "GOP reaches out his hand to grab the ropes …….. BUT HE CAN’T! GOP … GOP IS TAPPING! MY GOD! MY GOD! JONATHAN MARX HAS RETAINED THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HERE AT BATTLEBRAWL 2!"
(SFX: Bell rings and Jonathan Marx releases the Marxism, falling to the side of GOP.)
JACOBS: "Ladies and gentlemen .. the winner of the match via submission ….. AND STIIIILLLL NEW ERA OF WRESTLING WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION ….. ‘GENTLEMAN’ … JONATHAN … MARX!"
(CUEUP: ‘The Touch’ by Stan Bush. The crowd continues to go crazy as GOP rolls out of the ring and to the arena floor. Marx can hardly move as the referee brings him the championship.)
GHEORGHE: "INCREDIBLE! Simply incredible! Jonathan Marx … retained the New ERA World Title against the Phantom Republican .. and he did it without DREDD .. without any interference … Jonathan Marx retained his championship on his own merits … like a TRUE champion!"
JIVE: "It’s a miracle to say the least .. but he definitely deserved it! Shawn Hart better be watching in the back .. because these two men are going to have a HELL of a time when they meet up!"
GHEORGHE: "GOP is finally on his feet … and Jonathan Marx, championship in hand, is on his feet in the middle of the ring with the referee holding up his hand … and the crowd is just showering him right now."
JULIUS: "GOP is incensed! He is backing up the isle and hasn’t taken his eyes off Marx and the championship."
(CUTTO: GOP shaking his head as he walks backwards up the ramp.)
